From the Executive Directors Desk...
Because you share my passion for flying and all things related to out GA community, I take this opportunity to air my views in the most constructive manner I can, by urging all aviators to support organizations dedicated to allowing us the freedom to pursure our passion. But with that comes an individual, personal responsibility. This responsibiliy to air safety is for our families, our friends, our community, and to one's own individual self.
My firm conviction is that to insure our "Freedom To Fly", aviators must embrace "SAFETY" first and foremost.
While we may be "pretty smart" folks, we only get smart through education. And where does that start?
You guessed it...on the ground! "WHAT WE DO ON THE GROUND REALLY MATTERS!"
In my views, all aviators should:
- Be life-time dues paying members of the AOPA.
- Contribute to the Air Safety Foundation's "Hat in the Ring" Society.
- Make an oath to adhere to the principals of the Aviator's Model Code of Conduct (AMCC).
- Make a Commitment to qualify for the FAA Safety Team WINGS Pilot Proficiency program annually.
- Joint and support the Civil Air Patrol
- Become an active Advocate for Aviation Safety Foundation (AFASF) volunteer.
